Analysis Services Client

Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services is the platform for analysis with the best value for money in the market. It is included in Microsoft SQL Server licensing and therefore most organizations own licenses of this very scalable and functional product for analysis and reporting. Microsoft SQL Server also includes an excellent solution to create standard reports called Reporting Services. However, a good Analysis Services client for online analysis and ad hoc reporting is not part of Microsoft’s portfolio.  Analysis Services databases are created to give information workers the ability to analyze data and create ad hoc reports without dependence on IT resources. The lack of a good Analysis Services client tool makes it difficult to accomplish a good return on investment for BI projects.
 

DataWarehouse Explorer is an excellent Analysis Services client. As the product is focused on Analysis Services, it exposes all of its functionality through a visual interface. DataWarehouse Explorer has a user interface that is very similar to Office, so your information workers need a minimum of training.
